Located on the Northeastern shore of beautiful Sheepscot Lake, Two Loons Cottage is in an idyllic setting right on the water with incredible views of the lake from the deck, living room, master bedroom and one of the 3 other guest bedrooms. Two Loons Cottage is named after the pair of loons that are often found in the cove in front of the cottage.
Two Loons has lots of fun amenities to make your stay memorable. Enjoy dinner on warmer nights in the beautiful screened-in outdoor dining room. Spend the rest of a quiet evening at the outdoor fire pit right beside the lake roasting marshmallows and telling stories. Take the chill out of cooler evenings with the two beautiful cast iron gas wood stoves - one in the living room and one in the spacious master bedroom. Wake up each morning right and enjoy a cup of coffee on the second-story balcony off the master bedroom and watch the mist rise over the crystal clear water.
At the water`s edge, there is wading and a dock to fish off of. With over 200 feet of private lake shore and a private dock, the property enjoys all the beauty of Sheepscot Lake. The area near the dock is only 2 or 3 feet deep so use the included canoe to get out to where it is deeper and to explore the lake and nearby Sheepscot River.
Sheepscot Lake is 1,193 acres and numerous undeveloped islands dot the main basin of the lake. Fishing for landlocked salmon and brook trout is a popular sport. The Sheepscot River, across from Two Loons, meanders for several miles east from the lake and provides an excellent change of pace from lake activities.
When you arrive at the property, you are greeted by a comfortable, nicely furnished and well-maintained Maine lakeside retreat at the end of a long wooded lane with only one other house on the road. There is a large dining area where everyone can gather to talk about the day’s activities or tomorrow’s plans. The kitchen is equipped with all of the necessary pots, pans, utensils and appliances to cook most any meal and includes a brand new gourmet double convection oven, toaster oven and microwave. The kitchen and dining areas lead in to the open living room with gas wood stove and beautiful views of the yard and lake beyond. Also on the first floor is a full bath, laundry area, a queen bedroom, a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom with 2 twins. Upstairs is the huge Queen sized master suite with recently renovated en suite bath, sitting areas and balcony.
Outside the cottage has a full wraparound deck with gas grill, hammock and steps to the yard and fire pit. Next to the house is what the owners call the Club House. This building houses a fully screened dining room with views of the lake and a loft that’s a perfect place for teenagers to hang out.
This property if perfect for a family with children that is looking for a traditional lakeside vacation in Maine at the lake in a clean, modern, and nicely furnished atmosphere.
Sheepscot Lake is located 22 miles west of Belfast and 20 miles east of Augusta. It is only about 35 minutes from Camden via select back roads. There are small area diners and stores nearby for provisions, fishing tackle or just going out to breakfast, and there is a full service supermarket and gas station just 4 miles away.

Boat Rentals and other amenities offered through On the Water in Maine Inc. are not available at all the properties we offer for rent. Boat Rentals through Maine Watercraft Rentals Inc. are offered Sunday morning to Friday after 4pm and include free delivery to the property.
Any Off-Season bookings may be subject to a utility rate surcharge. Off-Season stays of less than 7 nights may also be subject to a cleaning fee.
