From the picturesque town of Astoria to the little village of Yachats, the Oregon Coast takes you through bustling resort towns with carousels and quiet villages with old time ice cream parlors, all set on a wild and scenic coastline. Outdoor and nature enthusiasts are welcomed by 70 State Parks, the Oregon Dunes and some of the most diverse marine life in the world. Sit back and watch whales breaching along endless stretches of beach. If not storm-watching, find a quiet protected spot to sip sundowners with a brilliant sunset.
Set between the busier towns of Newport and Waldport, Seal Rock is a small seaside village stretching five miles along the Pacific Coast Highway. Known as an artist’s haven, there are many galleries to explore showing local artists, woodworking and glass blowing.
