Snowmass lies just 9 miles from the playground of Aspen. A small alpine village lies at the base of the mountain. The largest of the four ski areas in and around Aspen, Snowmass has more than 3,300 acres of terrain with 91 trails, terrain parks and half pipes. Everything you could dream to ski is found in Snowmass.

Although famous for its ski season, summer in Aspen opens the door to endless fun and adventures. The ski areas become adventure zones for family fun. Nature lovers will revel in the White River National Forest’s extensive scenic trail system for hiking and biking. Hikers will enjoy the Rio Grande Trail along the Roaring Fork River to Glenwood Springs, home to one of the world’s largest hot springs pools. For a shorter walk, the Hunter Creek loop will take you through aspen groves and fields of blooming wildflowers. Cool off in the Dancing Fountain in town, a delight for both adults and children. The Colorado, Arkansas and Roaring Fork Rivers provide water lovers with excellent quiet fly-fishing or hours of fun rafting the rapids. A summer Aspen experience is not complete without a visit to Maroon Bells, one of North America’s most photographed mountain peaks offering excellent hiking with spectacular views of National Forest, 14,000 foot peaks and wildflowers mirror imaged in the waters below.
