El Capitaan is the largest exposed granite monolith in the world. Visit the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias with over 300 ancient Giant Sequoias or take a slow scenic drive to Glacier Point with panoramic views of the Yosemite Valley. At the south gate, take an exciting 4 mile railroad ride into logging history. Located 17 miles from the south gate is the beautiful destination of Bass Lake.
Yosemite is open year round and during the winter months is covered in a blanket of snow. Explore the park by snowmobile or visit Yosemite’s Badger Pass Ski Resort for world-class skiing. Curry Village Ice Rink is great fun for the family with break taking views of Half Dome and Glacier Point.
Bass Lake is located just 17 miles from the south gate of Yosemite National Park and was voted one of “The West’s Best Lakes” by Sunset Magazine. Known for its warm emerald green waters surrounded by tall majestic pines, Bass Lake is a favourite destination for outdoor enthusiasts and ideal for hiking, fishing, boating and swimming throughout the spring and summer months. The activities at Bass Lake do not end at the water’s edge. There is shopping at Pines Village and an excellent choice of restaurants to be found. Bass Lake has three nearby golf courses and three nearby casinos.
Located just to the South is June Lake, a beautiful old fashioned mountain hideaway with four scenic lakes and world-famous for excellent trout fishing.
